Weyerhaeuser Company is seeking a Regional Process Control/Automation Engineer for our Engineered Wood Products Mid-South Region interacting with several of our facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for mentoring technical staff, troubleshooting issues, planning, developing, and managing projects that address site safety and operational excellence improvements. This is a key technical position in the process control department and reports directly to the Process Control Technology Group Lead. The successful candidate must be committed to safety, have a positive attitude, excellent work ethic, and strong leadership skills. Key Functions/: Implement preventative and predictive maintenance methods and systems to reduce unscheduled downtime and utilize reliable troubleshooting methods to ensure production volume, quality, and overall reliability goals are met. Train and mentor technical support groups to understand control theory with a key focus on safety. Work closely with industrial maintenance groups, including process control technicians, industrial electricians, and millwrights. Assess and identify obsolescence gaps in control systems; work with Process Control Leads to develop migration plans.Execute project management approach to successfully implement electrical, power, and controls projects in the Mid-South Region.%0Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/related technical discipline with five (5) years of experience in PLC programming and Process Control, OR Associate's Degree with eight (8) years of experience, OR more than ten (10) years of experienceHigh level of proficiency with PLC troubleshooting, HMI programming software (such as Wonderware, FactoryTalk View SE/ME)Experience with VMware or hypervisor virtualization softwareUnderstanding of industrial networking technologies and associated infrastructureAbility to program and troubleshoot variable frequency drives (VFDs)Experience with motion control design, implementation and troubleshooting preferredExperience with medium voltage power distribution preferredExperience with preventative and predictive maintenance systems and techniquesAbility to read and understand electrical power and control system schematicsAbility to identify root cause of problems and effectively initiate immediate corrective action to prevent reoccurrenceExperience in an industrial manufacturing environment preferredDesire and ability to manage projects through strong planning and organization skillsExperience with SAP or other CMMS programProficient computer skills in MS Office, other windows-based programs, and internet skillsExcellent communication skills and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively at all levels in the organizationStrong work ethic, good judgement, and decision-making skillsMust be willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, when necessary and ability to accept calls during non-business hours Must be authorized to work in the United StatesMust attach a resume to the applicationSuccessful candidate must demonstrate a strong safety aptitude with an evident commitment to safe work practicesApplicants must pass Electrical aptitude testSuccessfully complete a pre-employment drug screen, background check, and physical.
