JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:
This position ensures the stability and integrity of DDI services
and enhancements. This is achieved by planning, designing, and
developing DNS, DHCP and IPAM management tools across the
organization. This position is also responsible for analysis of
network characteristics and recommendations for removals, and
modifications to network components.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
Provide overall design guidelines for DDI integration, performance,
reliability, operating, and innovation. Support business units in
the creation of project business cases (e.g., success
criteria).
Capture business capability requirements, functional requirements,
and expected service levels from business unit to create an
actionable IT-Networking roadmap (a long-range plan for the
business that identifies specific IT investments in infrastructure
to support business objectives).
Support infrastructure leadership in identifying opportunities for
emerging technologies, through collaboration, to enable business
strategies. Provide an advisory role with the client on the impact
of new technologies on their existing technical and network
environment.
Work with BA and PM teams to review strategies and requirements.
Ensure business and functional requirements are maintained
throughout the development/configuration process. Review and
analyze results to validate the functions of the delivered
solution.
Maintain strong understanding of networking technology needs and
solutions for the business unit. Regularly visit business units to
assess satisfaction and identify follow-up opportunities. Consider
alternate delivery models for meeting business needs.
Liaise between the client, vendors, project management and the
technical teams on questions, issues, and revisions to the solution
architecture.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. Master's degree is
a plus.
Minimum Requirements:
8+ years of DDI support and management experience is needed
5+ years Designing/Build/Migration experience of complex DDI
systems in enterprise environments
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Expertise designing, transforming, managing, and migrating complex
Infoblox Environments.
Been technical lead with hands on Infoblox
implantations/migrations.
Expert understanding of Network Services, DNS, DHCP, ISC BIND, NTP
and TCP/IP
Experience architecting, implementing, and configuring OEM
platforms especially InfoBlox. BlueCat or VitalQIP is a plus.
Deep understanding of IP addressing design
Experience with Microsoft DDI and Open-source DDI (ISC BIND and ISC
DNS, etc.) Desired.
Proven experience planning and executing migrations to or from any
of the various DDI OEM platforms
Perl and Python scripting is desired
Knowledge of switches, routers, load balancers and firewalls and
their interactions with DDI is a must.
Network Operating Systems: MS Active Directory, Linux, UNIX,
etc.
Any certificates, licenses, etc. required of the position
Certifications in InfoBlox is a plus
