Job Description:
PURPOSE AND ROLE
Responsible for the mechanical integrity and reliability of
rotating equipment located at the petroleum refinery. Ensure that
the site complies with applicable code and engineering standards
for inspection, alteration, and repair to maintain the mechanical
integrity and move to industry typical life spans of the rotating
equipment at the plant.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensures that all repairs and alterations to rotating equipment
are performed in accordance with RAGAGEP.
- Ensures that adequate inspection, QA/QC, and maintenance
condition monitoring programs are developed and utilized for safe
operation of rotating equipment.
- Develops and implements Pump MTBF, to achieve or exceed set
goals.
- Develops and implements Driver MTBF, to achieve or exceed set
goals.
- Develops and implements Fan/Compressor MTBF, to achieve or
exceed set goals.
- Maintains and updates site procedures for mechanical integrity
and reliability.
- Engages with seal vendor to assure that recommendations are
implemented in a timely fashion.
- Evaluates rotating equipment failures and provide proactive
solutions to mitigate re-occurrences.
- Develops equipment PM plans.
- Evaluates and prioritizes action items from Rotating Equipment
PM Reports.
- Provides oversight of the rotating equipment PM
program.
- Assists the operations group in developing Operator Reliability
Driven tasks (ODR).
- Assists the maintenance group in the development of precision
maintenance techniques and training.
- Assists the maintenance group with PM Optimization for rotating
equipment.
- Assists the maintenance group with repairs and follow up on
improvement opportunities.
- Continues to perform criticality analysis and ranking of
process equipment.
- Assists in the development of spares program based off
criticality analysis ranking.
- Develops defect elimination program.
- Continues to advance existing condition monitoring techniques
currently in use as well as justify and implement new
ones.
- Provides training opportunities to personnel for professional
advancement.
- Teams up with Turnaround group to ensure that site is aligned
with the Turnaround Best Practices.
- Develops Turnaround Scope of Work for rotating
equipment.
- Assists in the Turnaround Readiness Evaluation.
- Collects and provide quarterly reliability data for the
Quarterly report.
- Reviews quarterly data and provide recommendations based on
trends
- Assists with development and implementation of reliability
programs (Bad Actors, Criticality, etc.)
- Reviews rotating equipment standards and attend annual
conference.
- Updates document to reflect updates to the industry standards
Lead RE work group Assist sites with troubleshooting/best practices
Lead or assist sites with RCAs
- Ensures project management for rotating reliability projects
occurs
- Champions the development and implementation of value-added
SEMI programs.
- Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
- Prior manufacturing experience
- Knowledge of Rotating Equipment
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
