Job Description Job Description Job Post Title Manufacturing Engineer Job Post Description About Our Client Our client is a leading manufacturer of precision steel pipe fittings (tees, reducers, elbows, caps, saddles) serving the oil and gas industry for over 75 years. They are known for their commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and innovative manufacturing processes that exceed industry standards. Key Responsibilities Manufacturing Engineering & Process Improvement Order Setup: Coordinate new and existing orders from production planning through final output. Develop and maintain detailed product manufacturing instructions that meet customer and industry standards. Process Optimization: Monitor production process flows and internal systems to identify inefficiencies or improvement opportunities. Implement data-driven processes and best practices to enhance decision-making. Material Testing & Analysis: Oversee material testing (tensile, charpy, chemical analysis) after heat treatment. Input and validate mechanical and chemical properties to ensure compliance with customer specifications. Documentation & Continuous Improvement: Develop, update, and maintain SOPs and work instructions in line with ISO 9001 requirements. Evaluate changes in industry or customer standards and assess their impact on manufacturing processes. Additional Responsibilities Inventory & Materials Management Manage inventory counts, reconcile discrepancies, and maintain accurate records in Shoptech or related systems. Monitor and maintain stock items (tees, cylinders, saddles, caps) to ensure proper production levels. Documentation & Reporting Prepare travelers, MTR (Material Test Report) forms, and inspection packages for customers and inspectors. Maintain accurate records of test results (tensile, charpy, chemistry), heat codes, and quality documentation for full traceability. Prepare product-related CAD drawings for customers and production teams. Update daily production schedules, monitor backlogs, and create summary reports as needed. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Welding Engineering (or related field). 5-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 3-5 years in metal or steel processing. Proven experience in manufacturing process engineering within a production setting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Access) and data analysis tools. Hands-on experience with CAD software and technical documentation. Exceptional attention to detail. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience with welding operations and ASME Section IX is an asset. Prior involvement in equipment commissioning, installation, or process improvement projects. Knowledge of NDT techniques (PT, MT, UT, RT, ET) and advanced statistical process control.
