Collins Aerospace Additive Design and Manufacturing (ADaM) team is
seeking an Additive Manufacturing (AM) Project Engineer for its
Monroe, NC, Additive Manufacturing facility. In this dynamic role,
you will manage customer and internal projects from initial
engagement through production delivery, ensuring technical,
schedule, and cost commitments are met. You will translate customer
requirements into actionable build plans and collaborate across
Operations, Engineering, and Quality to ensure successful project
execution. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver with a
deep understanding of additive manufacturing technologies
(specifically laser powder bed fusion – LPBF), design for additive
manufacturing (DfAM), and technical project management. They thrive
in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and are passionate about
driving innovation, quality, and customer satisfaction. What You
Will Do : Lead new product introduction (NPI) and customer project
management from concept through delivery. Translate customer
requirements into production-ready proposals, configurations, build
plans, and documentation. Monitor projects to ensure on-time
delivery, compliance with quality & process requirements, and
alignment with budget goals. Serve as the primary customer point of
contact for technical and program communications. Provide customers
with proposals, statements of work (SOW), configuration packages,
and technical updates to ensure successful project execution and
customer satisfaction. Provide design-for-AM feedback, coordinate
quotes and proposals, and ensure customer satisfaction. Assess AM
part candidates for material and equipment selection,
manufacturability, and design optimization. Generate optimized
designs, layouts, and build files to produce high-quality parts
efficiently and consistently. Develop plans for long-term projects
that include ramp ups, equipment purchases, and staffing increases.
Communicate with outside vendors to acquire quotes for planning
purposes. Support customer qualification (PQ) builds and readiness
activities, including PPAP documentation and submissions. Oversee
project configuration control, risk management, and change
documentation to ensure traceable and controlled execution aligned
with Monroe’s manufacturing system. Partner with Operations,
Engineering, and Quality to align customer requirements with
production execution and configure processes within the MES/ERP
framework Collaborate with Materials Scientists and Quality
Engineers to validate inspections and material test data to support
PPAP submissions. Integrate CORE continuous improvement tools to
enhance project launch and quoting efficiency, configuration
management, and process capability. Strengthen cross-functional
alignment to ensure seamless execution from customer input to shop
floor production. Must be willing and able to travel up to 15% of
the time Qualifications You Must Have : Typically requires a
university degree and minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience
or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years
experience U.S. citizenship U is required, as only U.S. citizens
are authorized to access information under this program/contract 1
years experience with laser powder bed fusion metal additive
manufacturing, including DfAM, support structures, and machine
functionality (laser optics, build environment, etc.). 1 years
experience with technical project management 1 years experience
with Siemens NX or SolidWorks and Materialise Magics or similar
build processors and build file preparation software Qualifications
We Prefer: Master’s degree in science, engineering, or other
related field Prior experience working with internal and/or
external customers Familiarity with industry AM processing
specifications (e.g., NASA-STD-6030/6033, AMS7032). Hands-on
experience with additive and subtractive manufacturing and joining
techniques for metals. Experience with additive simulation

working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes
all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to
the development of our products. As part of our commitment to

86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith
estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers
