GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITIONThe Director IT (Corporate
Systems) is responsible for the overall development and support of
software applications for the company. This position will partner
with other areas of the business to extract maximum value from
technology investments. Additionally, the Director IT (Corporate
Systems) will ensure that expectations around Project Delivery,
Enhancements, Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and standard
operations are met or exceeded.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate with an execution mindset, make best practices fit for
purpose and solve complex business problems.
- Produce results with limited direction and stay aligned to
MUSA's goals and core competencies while also leading teams to do
the same.
- Oversee support of critical systems including being on call
outside of business hours to provide direction on evenings,
weekends and holidays.
- Manage the process of maintaining roadmaps for each
Team/Application, and ensure we are executing against those
roadmaps.
- Drive day-to-day management and serve as point of escalation
for all teams developing and supporting solutions deployed in the
applications environment.
- Drive training, recognition of strengths/opportunities and
employee development of all direct reports.
- Collaborate with vendors, coworkers and stakeholders on
projects including projects centered around Application Lifecycle
Management and Application Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Establish, maintain and serve as a liaison with vendors and
stakeholders and lead all Vendor Management on supported
systems.
- Support Procurement and Legal departments with reviews,
feedback, and negotiation of vendor contracts.
- Assist in the development and establishment of policies,
procedures, and standards for the applications, support, and
development team. In addition, will assure complete and accurate
documentation of all new and existing systems.
- Understanding of Agile and Scrum concepts, and how to apply
them in a support organization.
- Proper priorities management which results in delivery of
decreased risks, maintain compliance, increase productivity,
increase revenue, and decreased costs.
- Buy and build expedient system solution recommendations that
lead to significant speed of service, cost savings/revenue
generation, application performance, and longevity.
- Perform any other related duties as required or
assigned.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an
individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned
satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of
the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.EDUCATION AND
EXPERIENCEBroad knowledge of such fields as accounting, marketing,
business administration, finance, etc. Equivalent to a four-year
college degree, plus 7 years related experience and/or training,
and 5 years related management experience, or equivalent
combination of education and experience.
