Job DescriptionJob DescriptionRole and Responsibilities (Duties
include, but are not limited to the following)● Responsible for
answering the phones, making and relaying messages to patients and
staff, as necessary. ● Schedule diagnostic tests and labs, and
follow-up appointments ● Required to pull imaging, scans, and
hospital data from other hospitals. ● Required to maintain OncoEMR
schedules daily. ● Responsible for pre-authorizations on
medications, medical procedures, devices, and diagnostics ●
Responsible for patient demographics, data entry, insurance
verification and demographics collection, as well as relaying
messages and other important information to staff and physicians
onsite. ● Updates OncoEMR for all patients acquired and uploading
relevant documents into patient chart ● Specialist must at all
times safeguard and protect the patient's right to privacy by
ensuring that only authorized individuals have access to the
patient's medical information and that all releases of information
are in compliance with the request, authorization, company policy,
HIPAA regulations, and state/federal regulations as it relates to
operation. ● Completion of forms such as device orders, chart
document requests, prior authorizations, medication refills, etc. ●
Required to travel to other locations- mainly Natchitoches and
Alexandria when needed. ● Assist in application of continuous
monitoring device for evaluation ● Responsible for being a liaison
between clinic and durable medical equipment companies to send and
track patient orders, maintain patient required records, and send
chart information as requested. ● Responsible for interacting with
and uploading patient biometric data into multiple platforms ●
Assist patients in connecting compatible devices to our clinic
platforms for acquisition of data ● Assist in onboarding new
patients into virtual care programs (PCM, RPM, etc.) ● Responsible
for running requested reports and document preparation
Qualifications and Education Requirements● Certification in medical
assistance accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied
Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of
Health Education Schools (ABHES). ● US Healthcare federal
compliance certifications (e.g., HIPAA compliant).
Preferred Skills & Experience Minimum of two-year's experience in a
medical office environment. ● Knowledge of medical technology and
techniques including knowing how to conduct necessary medical tests
and educational techniques in instruction of patients ● Proper
spelling of medical terms and medications, with a general
understanding of billing and coding. ● Medical insurance background
required. ● Knowledge of organization policies, procedures,
systems, and health care administration practices. ● Advanced
computer skills. Knowledge of computer systems (Pharmaserv, EPIC,
Cardinal Health, OncoEMR, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, etc.)
● Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation to type from
draft copy, review and edit reports, and correspondence. ● Ability
to work professionally and effectively with staff, patients,
public, external agencies. ● Ability to self-pace and prioritize
work ● Ability to exercise proactivity with initiative, problem
solving, decision-making.
