Job Description Job Description IV Pharmacy Technician Job Description As an IV Pharmacy Technician, you will expertly mix IV and other pharmaceutical preparations, adhering to sterile compounding techniques. You will ensure all drug preparations are safe and effective by following documented instructions, warnings, and procedures. Additionally, you will perform environmental monitoring, sanitation, and testing in compliance with federal and state pharmacy regulations and USP-797. Responsibilities Mix IV and other pharmaceutical preparations using proper sterile compounding techniques. Adhere to all documented instructions, warnings, and procedures to ensure safe and effective drug preparation. Perform environmental monitoring, sanitation, testing, and other activities as required by applicable pharmacy regulations and USP-797. Maintain accurate drug inventory through purchasing, receiving, stocking, pulling, counting, and tracking drug items. Clean ante-room and clean room according to USP-797 standards and maintain clean room logs. Verify lot numbers and perform periodic inventory checks. Essential Skills Pharmacy experience. Compounding and sterile compounding techniques. Knowledge of USP 797. Experience with infusion and IV processes. TN State License and National Certification. Clean room experience. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience as a pharmacy technician is preferred. Home infusion therapy experience is preferred but not required. Must be well-organized and able to set priorities. Ability to work independently and as an effective team member. Articulate communication and comprehension of written and verbal communications. Efficient functioning in a fast-paced work environment. Computer skills required. Work Environment This position operates in a clean room environment requiring full personal protective equipment, with restrictions on makeup and jewelry. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. This role offers room for growth and advancement, without patient-facing responsibilities. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nashville, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.
