Job Description:
Job Description Certified in the State of Tennessee Provides
nutrition counseling, nutrition groups and experiential events to
ILC clients and oversees the nutritional aspects of client care.
Partners with clients and their clinical team to identify and
resolve complex or sensitive issues related to disordered eating
behaviors or other nutrition-related physical and mental health
conditions. Eagerly engages clients in identifying issues, options,
and desired outcomes. Develops a clear picture of the needs and
best options from the client's perspective. Reports to Director of
Operations. GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS Registered
Dietitian/Nutritionist Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist in
Tennessee, or eligible, with temporary license issued within 3
months of employment and license within 6 months of employment. 2
years of experience working with clients/patients Interest in
working with clients with mental health, substance use, and/or
disordered eating difficulties Bachelor’s degree in health and/or
nutrition-related field Part time – Hours may vary outside
traditional working hours to accommodate program schedule and
clients’ needs. Completes nutrition assessment within 24 hours of
admission to assigned clients. Establishes appropriate meal plans
and nutrition-related clinical goals based on individual client
needs. Works in cooperation with medical team to address client
needs. Maintains a schedule for sessions and meetings with clients
at the frequency indicated by their nutrition care plan. Documents
client sessions in the medical record according to ILC policy.
Establishes a therapeutic relationship with clients, including
rapport, therapeutic boundaries, and a working alliance towards
treatment goals. Develops and implements individualized nutrition
care plans to facilitate clients' progress. Focuses on results and
desired treatment outcomes and how best to achieve them. Looks for
opportunities to help advance treatment and responds to treatment
plan setbacks. Updates treatment plans with measurable objectives,
nutrition related assignments, discharge planning, and notation of
progress. Reassesses nutritional needs on an ongoing basis and
presents recommendations to treatment team at weekly treatment team
meetings. Coordinates care with families or other support people
and the client's outpatient dietitian as appropriate. Involves
families as needed in coordination with the primary therapist and
client care coordinator. Demonstrates ability to build rapport with
families, provides education to families or relevant support people
as needed. Completes nutrition discharge plans for clients.
Establishes referrals for outpatient dietitians. Collaborates with
supervisor to develop, review, and update nutrition- and
meal-related educational materials to meet the needs of clients and
direct care staff. Facilitates group nutrition education tailored
to the specific client group needs. Communicate regularly with
direct care and culinary staff regarding clients’ nutritional
needs. Provides directions to staff regarding problem solving
nutritional concerns. Communicates clients’ meal plan, food
allergies, and any other special nutrition instructions clearly to
the culinary and direct care staff. Demonstrates ability to work in
a cooperative manner as a team member. Demonstrates ability to
problem solve issues with coworkers and refrain from involvement in
negative talk regarding patients or coworkers. Communicates
concerns regarding policies, working conditions, patients, or
coworkers through appropriate channels. Demonstrates dependability
through attendance and punctuality. Accountable; takes initiative
and ownership of issues. Presents willingness/enthusiasm to create,
embrace, and facilitate change Completes other duties as assigned
by supervisor. Adheres to ILC clinical, administrative and staff
policies
