Job Description:
Summary:
A Banking Center Manager II must have exceptional customer service,
sales, leadership and management skills. This employee must have a
working knowledge of operations and the ability to develop and
achieve Banking Center goals in accordance with the parameters
defined by management. The Banking Center Manager II must
consistently maintain a positive attitude, be a team player who is
supportive of management and MidSouth Bank policies. Employees in
this position are required to perform functionally to support a
variety of sales and service functions
Responsibilities:
Primary Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of the Banking Center Manager II is to
provide quality service to customers of MidSouth Bank, and to sell
MidSouth Bank's products to customers and potential customers,
provide leadership to banking center employees, and manage the
day-to-day functions of the banking center. The Banking Center
Manager II works as the Banking Center team leader to ensure
individual and Banking Center goals are met. The primary duties of
a Banking Center Manager II are to
* Understand bank mission, organizational structure, employee
handbook, bank security, policies and procedures, standards of
conduct and incentive program
* Maintain a working understanding of all products and services
sold by MidSouth Bank
* Understand competitor bank products/services and advantages of
MidSouth Bank
* Increase the deposit and loan base of the banking center based on
goals established around market opportunity
* Develop and implement with the assistance of the banking center
team a written sales and profit plan for the banking center
outlining each individual's goals and objectives based on market
opportunity
* Provide leadership by example and through coaching, paying
particular attention to performance, and providing positive
reinforcement, training and support necessary for employees to
succeed
* Provide leadership and participate in the banking center sales
incentive program
* Ensure development of written performance goals for individual
employees and the banking center as a whole
* Conduct weekly sales meetings and weekly clinics with employees
to review sales & service skills, product knowledge and individual
banking center performance goals and achievements
* Market and sell all MidSouth Banks' deposit and loan products and
make referrals to other appropriate sales areas including
alternative investments and commercial banking
* Retain banking center customers and increase the level of
products used by these customers
* Solicit new business through cold calling in person, telephone
sales and appreciation calls
* Ensure customer needs are met and that employees perform in an
effective manner
* Ensure the banking center is staffed appropriately (in teller and
new account platform) according to banking center traffic patterns
paying particular attention to high volume days
* Assist in employee development and retention through supporting
ongoing training of employees in technical skills, sales skills,
customer service, consumer products, operations, and compliance
issues
* Ensure compliance with regulations, Bank policies, and safety and
security procedures; assumes responsibility for integrity of Branch
operation
* Know where the CRA notice, statement and public disclosure file
is located in the banking center and who the CRA Officer is
Secondary Responsibilities:
Other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned to the
Banking Center Manager II are:
* Ability to handle all job functions of Customer Service Associate
II and Universal Banker in case of absence of employees
* Work with management to develop a Banking Center Business Plan
and Banking Center goals and objectives.
* Work with team members to set individual goals and objectives
* Take consumer loan applications; close loans as directed by the
loan department
* Participate in outside service organizations to promote the
community and advance the MidSouth Bank image
* Conduct employee performance reviews
* Manages a larger banking center, with at least 4 associates
* Other duties as designated by management
Qualifications:
* College degree or equivalent work experience
* Minimum of 3 years management experience in a banking center
environment
* Successful completion and certification of MSU supervisory course
(or the ability and willingness to complete within 18 months of
hire date)
* Ability, willingness to participate in various task force
meetings
* Capable of providing leadership to a group of peer managers
within a hub of a designated retail market
* Ability to mentor/develop new employees
* Must be capable of managing a group of peer managers within a hub
within a designated market
* Basic math aptitude and proficiency
* Must have a professional appearance and manner
* Demonstrated leadership skills & abilities
* Must be self-motivated
* Must maintain a performance rating of Good/Meets Requirements at
all times
* Expected to participate in appropriate AIB classes such as
Principals in Banking and Supervision 1 & 2 and other sales, and
compliance seminars as management requires
* Must possess or be eligible for licensing with the Nationwide
Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS)

conversation, count currency and coin, operate Retail Store Manager
II related equipment, read on-line computer screen, and to achieve
95% accuracy in the use of the following equipment:
* Main Frame System access and printers
* Basic Word and Excel proficiency

* Fax machine
* Visa/MasterCard authorization machine
* Check protector
* Telephone
* Encoder
* Copy Machine
* Demonstrate ATM
* Alarm systems (arm and disarm)
