Manage the open purchase order report with a heavy focus on expediting. Resolve pricing discrepancies and other issues as needed. Monitor stock outs and make recommendations for changes in stocking levels. Communicate with the field on purchase order issues, extended lead times, and critical customer requirements. Monitor supplier performance and respond to the daily needs of customers. Assist with projects as desired. Qualifications of the Purchasing/Buyer position include, but are not limited to: Previous purchasing experience in an Industrial Distribution environment preferred. Computer literate, preferably Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to work closely with others in a team environment, good interpersonal skills. Adaptable to change; must be willing to make necessary adjustments to meet department workload and deadlines .
