Information is also provided on our job seeker website at ****************************************** For further information about this vacancy contact: Kia Fields *********************** Shreveport Housing Authority Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Six years of experience in clerical work, real estate, housing management, social services or tenant relations, three years of which must have been in housing management, social services or tenant relations. SUBSTITUTIONS: College training will substitute for the required general experience on the basis of thirty semester hours for one year of experience. A baccalaureate degree will substitute for three years of the required general experience and one year of the required specialized experience. College training will substitute for a maximum of four years of the required experience. There is no substitution for two years of the required specialized experience. NOTE: Any college hours or degree must be from a school accredited by one of the following regional accrediting bodies: the Middle States Commission on Higher Education; the New England Commission of Higher Education; the Higher Learning Commission; the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities; the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools; and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. Job Concepts FUNCTION OF WORK: Directs one or more housing assistance programs. LEVEL OF WORK: Administrator. SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Broad direction from a higher level administrative official. SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Direct over Housing Managers; may supervise lower level personnel. LOCATION OF WORK: Housing Authorities. JOB DISTINCTIONS: Differs from a Housing Manager by the presence of administrative responsibility for directing a housing assistance program. See allocation criteria memo. Examples of Work EXAMPLES LISTED BELOW INCLUDE BRIEF SAMPLES OF COMMON DUTIES ASSOCIATED WITH THIS JOB TITLE. PLEASE NOTE THAT NOT ALL TASKS ARE INCLUDED. Maintains and compiles necessary statistics and prepares reports and presentations. Performs site visits and inspections. Directs the review and analysis of data concerning area rental rates, turnover and vacancy rates, and etc. to provide recommendations for changes in operating procedures or program services. Investigates and recommends the implementation and revision of agency policies. May coordinate community service program(s). Serves as liaison with all organizations and individuals who are participants in a leased housing program. Monitors and evaluates housing assistance programs to ensure goals and priorities are met. Creates and maintains effective public relations with the general public, landlords, real estate associations, and other agencies and groups. Directs the development and implementation of rules, policies, regulations and directives pertaining to all phases of operation of the projects. Interprets, clarifies and defines agency goals and objectives, including short and long-range goals. Assists Housing Managers and their subordinates whenever they encounter administrative, personnel, tenant management, or community or related problems. Identifies, investigates and resolves a variety of problems and complaints from residents, employees and property owners.
