Our Calhoun location in Tennessee, United States is currently seeking talent to fill the position of Employee Learning & Development Leader. This job is permanent, full-time.
Title: Employee Learning & Development Leader Reports To: Regional Manager, HRD Job Summary: The ELD Leader is responsible for working cross-functionally to develop robust learning concepts with the end goal of improving the productivity of work teams. A leadership role that must collaborate with all levels of the business unit to accomplish goals related to employee learning and development. Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop training and education systems that lead to a learning culture (i.e. design, delivery, and implementation, follow up and sustaining) for salaried and hourly job classifications.
  • Assist in the technical development of employees through training and organizational development activities
  • Oversee and/or facilitate employee-training activities, such as monthly CBT delivery, vendor training, leadership training, etc.
  • Assist with hourly production and crafts (Mechanical and Electrical) pre-employment testing, candidate interviews, and employee orientation; familiarity with the Nowlin-- System and ACT WorkKeys-- is helpful
  • Development and maintenance of training materials (LMS, CBL's) and training matrix for work area
  • Deliver and coordinate training program content.
  • Facilitate the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures and provide avenues for ease of access for all employees
  • Facilitate work area promotional review boards
  • Support workforce performance management process
  • Assess team strengths and weaknesses - develop improvement strategies
  • Improve consistency of shift to shift work practices
  • Utilize department intranet and other media to manage related documentation
  • Serve as trusted member and resource of the HRD team
  • Work with managers to develop consistent techniques and practices
  • Support Safety Department with all compliance-related training material delivery, (OSHA, Environmental, Fork Truck, Aerial Lift, etc).
  • Working through the appropriate functional managers to ensure compliance with all applicable environmental regulations and standards Able to access and retrieve information from the Environmental intranet site Desired Skills and Experience
    • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or appropriate work experience
    • Work in the manufacturing field experience
    • 5-10 years in training development and delivery
    • Skilled in training program design and implementation: both theoretical and practical
    • Experience with online development tools
    • Proven ability to lead by example and accomplish goals through influence rather than authority
    • Outstanding communication skills, including verbal, written and presentation
    • Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users clearly and concisely
    • Ability to understand and help facilitate organizational change
    • Embodies a philosophy of life-long learning
    • Excellent problem-solving skills At least five years of progressively increasing responsibility in the HR/Training Field, including experience with organizational change
    • Strong understanding of the operations of an industrial environment. Demonstrated proficiency at achieving results and leading change while adhering to stated Company values
      • Strong understanding of organizational development practices and performance management techniques
      • Ability to balance competing priorities to meet short and long term objectives.
      • Outstanding communication skills, including ability to build rapport with all members of the organization. Exhibit ability to build high levels of trust and credibility
      • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills; highly organized and uses efficient work methods
      • Possesses an entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to foster an environment of innovation
      • Functional use of Microsoft Office, and Enterprise systems
