JOB SUMMARYHours of Position 11:00am to 7:00pm The primary purpose of the Maintenance Technician is to ensure smooth functioning of the plant equipment through preventative maintenance and repair as needed. The maintenance tech will also be responsible for becoming proficient on any new equipment installed.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS With general supervision, perform the full range of duties of Maintenance Tech.With minimal or no assistance, properly start up plant each morning.Properly maintain boiler and accurately test water in accordance with established schedule.Accurately and quickly troubleshoot plant equipment and/or machinery problems and repair in a timely fashion.With minimal or no assistance, properly and safely shut down the plant.Observe safety guidelines and wear safety equipment at all times.Work orders, issued by supervision, will be completed by the assigned deadline, unless prior approval has been obtained from Supervision.Perform preventative maintenance as scheduled:Record all activities in Software System.Ensure that all PMs are done on scheduleAdvise supervisor if any PM work is not done as scheduled.Advise supervisor if any PM work reveals serious issuesWork collaboratively with all employees, always remembering that the maintenance department services production.Responsible for safe machine operation:Don't take shortcuts - always follow proper safety procedures when working on or around machinery.Follow all lock out/tag out procedures.Perform all repair work on demand in a careful and efficient manner.Seek counsel from supervisor when priorities are conflictingMay be responsible for starting up the boiler and shutting it down daily or periodically.Notify supervisor when maintenance supplies are low so that they can be replenished on time.Find things to do when PM work is complete and repair work is not needed at that moment. There are always things that can be done to increase the efficiency of our equipment.Be creative about coming up with ideas for improvements.Participate in staff meetings collaboratively.Attend Safety Meetings as directed.Any other duties as assigned or deemed necessary.
