PURPOSE OF POSITION: New hire Qualified Locomotive Electrician will receive a $15,000 signing bonus.An electrician is responsible for inspecting, servicing, and maintaining diesel locomotive electrical systems in accordance with company guidelines and federal regulations; detecting and diagnosing diesel engine electrical malfunctions, and making necessary repairs. • Electrical repair and maintenance of diesel locomotives
• Electrical modifications/upgrades to locomotive systems
• Diagnostic trouble shooting with onboard computer systems/laptops
• Will be responsible for other duties as assigned in compliance with FRA Rules and Safety Regulations POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Journeyman Electrician is preferred, but will consider applicants with related electrical experience
  • Diesel electrical experience ispreferred. However, electrical experience or training with other types of machinery/truck or automotive electrical repairs and upgrades to systems is considered
  • Abilityto follow Electrical Schematics is a definite asset
  • Must be safety oriented and comply with safety rules and regulations
  • Must be willing to work shifts, 24/7 seniority based operation
