location in Columbus, OH, currently has an opportunity for an
Associate Project Leader - Design Assurance Primary Function: The
Design Assurance Associate Project Leader will work with product
development teams to assure the quality, safety, and efficacy of
our products from development through commercialization. The
Project Leader needs to be team oriented, agile, innovative and
able to anticipate and mitigate risks. The Project Leader delivers
timely, fact based, decisions focused on assuring quality products.
The successful candidate works with their functional group peers
and managers to define Design Assurance related deliverables to
ensure successful scale up to commercial scale manufacturing
(successful FLTS process). Together with R&D, Technical Centers
and Plant operations the incumbent assesses critical to quality
attributes and ensures the manufacturability of new formulations
and products. This position reports to the Manager, Global Design
Assurance. Ensures that all Abbott Nutrition products meet the
highest standards for quality required by regulations and is
responsible for determining trends in the supply chain and adapting
or transforming quality processes to achieve breakthrough
improvements. Interruption in the distribution of products can
result if these efforts are not well planned and coordinated across
the business. WHAT YOU’LL DO Assures that the design and testing
for all Abbott Nutritional products are fully compliant with
applicable regulations Facilitates product technical risk
management activities through product development stages Utilizes
Food Science knowledge to assure design, evaluate risk and
successful manufacture. Monitors product, process and package
quality performance and identifies quality related issues and
trends. Works with multiple functions including Supply Chain,
R&D, Operations, and Regulatory. Works on problems of medium
scope that can have significant business impact Identify/gain
agreement on design criteria, negotiate compromises, balance
quality with other criteria across all functional areas Displays
working knowledge of relationships between regulations, labeling,
process and product. Displays working knowledge of applicable
product regulations and policies Assures food safety through the
use of HACCP and Microbiological knowledge Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, technical, or science
field required. Preference of 1 year working experience in the
food/nutritional industry Proficient technical writing skills; able
to effectively and concisely communicate issues. Ability to
effectively organize and communicate technical information
Knowledge of applicable regulatory standards and requirements for
infant formula and nutritional products. Knowledge of quality
management systems and regulatory requirements. Ability to work
independently and/or function with minimal supervision. Must be
able to maintain a high degree of accuracy and analytical thinking.

$110,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the
range posted.
